Introduction to Sciencers.org: For Scientists, seekers and Skeptics.

“Virtually every major issue facing global society today has science and technology at its core.” – Dr. Alan I. Leshner (AAAS CEO, 2001-2015)

Science is our best bet to solve some of the worlds most pressing problems. Science is our best bet to gain an objective understanding of ourselves and of the world around us. Science is our best bet to transform and improve the quality of living for all of us. But the details of what scientists think about and work on today, in many ways, remains with scientists, although most science is funded by the taxpayers aka the public.

I’m a scientist by trade and my mission with this blog is to invite everyone to join the conversation about science. Sciencers.org will feature technical reviews of scientific advancements, opinion articles, biographies, unique perspectives and healthy debates about critical contentious issues in science. Technical, political, socioeconomical, educational and human aspects of science will be discussed. Articles will change in format and content from time to time, but will have the same theme: Academic rigor meets popular science meets journalism. Scientists of all levels, science enthusiasts and skeptics are welcome alike.

Welcome to Sciencers.org.
